Last year, just a couple of weeks before we left we began a blanket drive. We thought the blankets were only for our bags for special needs children when we started. But, God provided 100s of blankets and we packed them, thinking He must be up to something.
Over and over all week, the Holy Spirit moved in the hearts of missionaries to give blankets to kids of all ages. We listened to stories of fear, abuse, and health concerns. Or we saw the need for a little extra comfort or a reminder they are loved. The blankets became a tangible reminder that God never leaves, that He sees, the He hears, that He is there, and we love these kids.
Will you pray for the missionaries to be sensitive to the nudges of the Holy Spirit as they interact with the children? Will you pray for the children who need comfort?
